Today, Mr. Tobin talked about the "About Me" section of our blogs. My about me section is on the Home page, if you would like to see it. Mr. Tobin also strongly suggested that we change our displayed picture to the one used in our school records (from last year). Mr. Tobin showed the class a few examples of good and bad "About Me"s, pointing out what we should improve.
Additionally, we have decided to stop doing the Google Ninja program. Instead, Mr. Tobin breaks us into groups that each work on a single tech problem (e.g. implementing an application, setting up a google form or figuring out how something online works). All the groups would compete against each other to come up with the most efficient solution to the challenge.
Our challenge to be completed by next Wednesday is to create a Google Form that registers a referral. A teacher would fill out this form. Also, we must use FormRat to automatically report the information back to the teacher (as a record) and to the administration.

Recently, I have been working with Mr. Tubio on automating google form assignments. The main problem was that google forms does not send the student a copy of their assignment after they turn it in. I was figuring out a way that would either implement Autocrat (which I have mentioned in earlier Daily Posts here) or create my own Google Script in order to automatically have Google Forms email the student a copy of their responses. Mr. Tubio has been using Edmodo in the meantime, which has been working really well. I will talk to him about whether he still has a need for the Google Form method for assignments.
